Jeffrey “Jeff” Bowman is a partner and business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. Jeff is based in the firm’s Salt Lake City office, where he is a member of the firm’s Transactions Practice Group and Chair of the Venture Capital Committee.
Jeff primarily focuses his practice on representing emerging growth companies, entrepreneurs, and investors in the areas of corporate, securities, and M&A. His counsel spans the entire corporate life-cycle, from formation to exit, including pre-incorporation business advice, general corporate counseling, financings, technology transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other day-to-day business matters relevant to rapidly growing companies. Jeff also advises clients on matters of intellectual property, employment, and equity compensation.
Jeff works with companies of all sizes, ranging from single founders to companies valued in excess of $1 billion in a broad range of industries, including SaaS, fintech, biotechnology, life sciences, digital health, Web 3.0, marketing and sales tech, EdTech, e-commerce, consumer products, and financial and other professional services. Jeff also represents venture capital firms, private equity firms, and angel investors investing in companies throughout the nation.
Before Foley, Jeff was a partner at a business and transactional law firm in their Salt Lake City office. Prior to law school, Jeff worked as an intern at the International Trade Centre WTO/UNCTAD in Geneva, Switzerland, in its Office of Arab States, Europe, and CIS countries, where he assisted with the execution of export development projects in Central Asian countries.

- Foley & Lardner LLP represented HeroDevs, a provider of security and compliance solutions for deprecated open-source software, in securing a $125 million strategic growth investment from PSG, a growth equity firm focused on software and technology-enabled services companies
- Represented Trajectory Capital Management in its strategic investment in Legal Decoder, Inc.
- Represented Brooks Advisory Group in its strategic investment of $35,000,000 in Valencia Technologies, a neuromodulation company focused on minimally invasive treatment of urinary incontinence.
